Shetland inspired stranded colorwork is on almost every knitter's bucket list. This class will provide you with the foundational skills and swatch experience to continue and knit your own Shetland Solstice Hat by Gudrun Johnston. Now's your chance to learn the basics of this beautiful technique in a slow-paced, relaxing environment.
Instructors Nichole Heady and Jules Cooper will be your guide through the process of selecting colors, hand-positioning, creating a colorwork swatch and steeking it once completed. Continental knitters will be divided from English style during the technique portion of the class, each receiving instruction for their preferred method.
We make these first steps easy and approachable so anyone can do it!
- 10am-12pm: Basics 101- Selecting colors, basic technique overview
- 12pm-1pm: Break- bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the park next door or grab something from one of the surrounding restaurants.
