Traditional cross stitch patterns are completed on Aida cloth or linen, using the natural grid of the fabric as your guide. Join instructor Holly Hoffman to learn how to increase the versatility of your cross stitch patterns by super-sizing them onto finished items, such as totes, clothing, jackets and home decor.
Holly will guide you through the process of using Stick & Stitch sheets pre-printed with a grid and adhering them to your project surface. Then moving onto reading the cross stitch pattern and traditional cross stitching with six-strands. This three-hour class will provide complete instruction and you can expect to get a good start on your cross stitch tote and all the knowledge necessary to complete it at home.
- Centering the Stick & Stitch grid on the tote
- Tips for reading a cross stitch pattern and translating it to larger applications
- Stitching with six-strands of floss
