Learn how to make this simple inexpensive Modern Crochet Potholder with instructor Sharon Crawford. The double thick fabric is luxurious to use and the easy-care cotton can be thrown right in the washing machine. Coordinate nearly any kitchen decor with the large color selection of yarns to choose from. Once this three-hour class is completed, you will have a very good start on your potholder and be well on your way to completing it at home, and continuing to make many more in your future!
Makes a much-appreciated gift when paired with a beautiful wooden spoon or a few of your handwritten favorite recipes!
This class is intended for Adult Beginners (with some basic knowledge of chaining and single crochet).
Skills you will learn:
- Reading/following the basic crochet pattern
- Counting rows to maintain a square shape
- Crocheting a hanging loop or adding one made from leather
- Folding the flat panel to create the double-thick design
- Assembly and stitching a diagonal seam
- Tips and tricks along the way!
Materials:
The class includes three hours of instruction and a printed pattern. Attendees need to be prepared and bring the following:
- US H / 5mm crochet hook
- Yarn/tapestry needle appropriate for DK weight yarn
- 1 ball of Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton
