Join instructor Nichole Heady in this immersive stitching experience. Saltbox Lavender Farm is a stunning micro-farm property located in Buxton, Maine. They will be showing off peak lavender bloom season and serving as our host for this exclusive class event.
As a perfect pairing, you will cross stitch a delicate lavender sachet, and then fill it with lavender sourced right from the farm. No previous cross stitch experience is required! Once complete use to keep your wardrobes and drawers smelling sweetly.
- 10am-12pm: Basics + Project Set-up- Nichole will guide you through step-by-step, providing a variety of tips and tricks along the way.
- 12pm-1pm: Break- Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy seating under a canopy shade or other picnic seating areas scattered around the grounds. Wander the farm, lavender maze and butterfly garden. Visit the refreshment bar serving ice cold Lavender Lemonade. Peruse the farm shop & art gallery.
- 1pm-3pm: Stitching Time- Now that you're acclimated to your project, spend the remaining two hours relaxing in the lavender garden, stitching your sachet. Use lavender from the farm to fill your sachet once completed!
This 4-hour class will provide complete instruction and you can expect to get a good start on your lavender sachet and all the knowledge necessary to complete the project at home if needed. The kit includes enough supplies that you can make a second sachet at home with a topiary motif after perfecting your skills on the first one!
- Basic cross stitch technique
- Preparing placement on the Aida cloth
- Reading a cross stitch pattern
- Preparing the floss
- Needle threading tips
- Switching between floss colors
- Assembling the sachet
Please note, this class is designed for Adult Beginners and up.
Class Fee Includes:
- 4-hours of instruction
- Admission to the farm
- All-inclusive French Sachet Cross Stitch Kit with supplies to create two sachets
- Scoop of lavender sourced right from the farm to use as sachet filler (Additional scoops available at $3 each)
- Complimentary bottled spring water
The following items are not required, but if you prefer to bring your own favorite tools, these could be helpful:
- Sharp snips
- Needle threader
- Please include your email address and phone number when you check out so that we can contact you if needed.
- This class takes place in person at Saltbox Lavender Farm in Buxton, Maine. You will receive the official address once you have booked the class.
- In case of inclement weather, an alternate rain date of Friday, July 10th is in place. You will be notified via email with 24-hours notice should this be utilized.
- Parking is very limited at the farm. Kindly carpool whenever possible.
