Already know the very basics of crochet? Did you previously take our Beginner Crochet class? Let instructor Sharon Crawford take you to the next level with this easy (yet extra cozy!) poncho.
Using a simple granny-style border and double crochet rows for the body, you will make a beautiful poncho that is sure to become a favorite for cozy season. For Intermediate Beginners and up with working knowledge of Chaining and Double Crochet.
- 10am-12pm: Pattern Basics + Border- Basic overview of the pattern, help selecting your size, review of construction. Begin granny-style border.
- 12pm-1pm: Break- bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the park next door or grab something from one of the surrounding restaurants.
- 1pm-3pm: Main Body- Transition into the main body construction with rows of double-crochet, dividing for the neck opening.
Once this 4-hour class is completed, you will have all the necessary skills and be well on your way to completing your own cozy poncho.

- Reading a crochet pattern
- Selecting your size
- Granny stitch border
- Double crochet rows for body construction
- Splitting for the neck
Materials:
The class includes four hours of instruction and a printed pattern. Attendees need to be prepared and bring the following:
- US I / 5.5mm crochet hook
- 4-5 balls / 1080-1350+ yards of worsted weight yarn (Color Theory recommended). Final yardage needed will be dependent on your selected size.
