Learn the basics of crochet with instructor Sharon Crawford. Master the skills needed to get started on a beautiful yet simple granny-style wrap which can be styled like a cozy shawl or draped scarf. Sharon will guide you step-by-step with her approachable, easy to follow teaching style. Once this three-hour class is completed, you will have solid foundational crochet skills and be well on your way to completing your very first handmade accessory.
Skills you will learn:
- Holding a crochet hook
- Yarn tension
- Creating a chain
- Making a slip stitch
- Double crochet stitch
- How to read a crochet pattern
Materials:
The class includes three hours of instruction and a printed pattern. Attendees need to be prepared and bring the following:
- US I / 5.5mm crochet hook
- 385+ yards of heavy-worsted/aran weight yarn, preferably a self-striping merino like Amitola Grande
