Freia Hand-dyed Merino Shawl Balls (430-yards!) provide enough ombre yarn in a single ball to create a medium sized shawl that is light but warm. Use two and you will have a large cozy shawl or wrap to see you through the chilliest of days. The stunning gradients transition smoothly keeping you engaged and enthralled as you work on your project.

This custom-spun single-ply merino is grown on small farms in the Rockies and milled in North Carolina. The yarn is then hand-dyed at Freia's studio in North Adams, Massachusetts with acid dyes using processes that are gentle to the environment. The yarn is untreated so it must be washed by hand or it will felt. Though a single ply, you will find it strong as their dyeing process very gently felts the yarn making it durable enough to handle the maneuvering of cables and lace.
