Our latest knit obsession is the Vesna Tee by Life is Cozy. It's a boxy summer top you can choose to make cropped or not (pick your length 14-23"), perfect for layering over a tank or sundress. Of course we saw this pattern as the perfect opportunity to use our custom Nimble Sock color, Tidewater Pines. To let it shine front and center, we paired it up with Knitting for Olive Merino in neutral color Marzipan. After many customer requests, we're offering this color combination as a Limited Edition kit!

Project highlights:
  • Stripe-by-stripe pattern makes for a satisfying checklist as you work your way around.
  • Minimal yardage of fingering weight required, allowing you to show off a special hand-dyed skein
  • The top is worked flat in two pieces. Each piece starts from provisional cast on and is knit sideways. Sets of increases and decreases shape the shoulders and the boat neck.
  • All patterns are worked with the built-in i-cord edge. This edging later becomes the hem and the boat neck trim.
  • Once both panels are completed, shoulders are seamed and the sides of the top are joined with the three needle bind off. A few rows worked in pattern finish off arm openings.
  • If the project is worked in two colors, there’s no need to break yarn - the floats are short and hidden in the i-cord edging!

There are three grab-and-go kit sizes to choose from. Use the chart on Slide 4 above to select your preferred finished bust and length, which will then tell you which kit size you require. Each kit includes yarn and printed pattern. Needles and notions not included, see note below.

Additional needles + notions needed (not included in kit)

  • US4/3.5mm needles or the size needed to obtain gauge of 21 sts and 40 rows in 4” / 10cm in stockinette, blocked; directions for adjusting to a different row gauge are provided
  • Body: long straight needles or circulars
  • Sleeves: a pair on a long cable for the magic loop, a set of dpns, or any other pair for knitting small circles
  • One extra pair for three needle bind off
